ScooterExpo – A New Event

ScooterNova Magazine and SLUK (ScooterLab UK) together are putting on a brand new scooter event in summer 2019. ScooterExpo will take place on Sunday July 28th, doors open from 10am-4pm with an admission price of £5.

ScooterExpo will be a showcase for some of the finest scooters ever built. Filling two halls, 75 scooters will be hand-picked by the event's two hosts - set out spaciously, allowing them to be fully appreciated in all their glory. Each entrant will receive a ScooterExpo ‘75’ commemorative limited-edition souvenir. Potential entrants are invited to send in their details and a photo of their scooter (or project/ideas if not yet finished). The chosen 75 will demonstrate the very best variety of machines.

In addition it will be a place for many of the most well-respected traders to ply their wares and for a few characters and legends from the scooter scene to tell their tales. As well as live chats, artisan craftsmen will be giving live demos on their various skills, from airbrushing and pin-striping, to custom seat making - making this an interactive scooter show.

A one-day event, ScooterExpo will be at the Alfreton Leisure Centre, home of the original NSRA Trade & Custom shows 30 years ago. Attending as part of that celebration will be some of the scooters that were originally on display at Alfreton.

The organisers have generously offered VVC a table at ScooterExpo where we will be giving out flyers and JOURNAL back issues to promote the club and we hope one or two of our bikes will also be on display. Why not apply to enter your own Vespa - it would be nice to see a few VVC bikes there!
