1953 Ape published in ScooterNova magazine

The latest copy of the JOURNAL greets readers with a restored, barring the final metallic green paint, 1953 Ape on the front cover with details further inside. ScooterNova magazine’s creator and editor, Andy Gillard, is a VVC member and asked if he could share the Ape feature in his publication. What with ScooterNova’s larger A4 scale and much more space, the answer was always going to be a “yes”!

The story required a re-write with more details added while the extra pages allowed for more photos; a good few of the Ape in its sorry state when first found and its restoration progress along the way, plus more of the 35mm film shots I took of the virtually finished project during my visit in December 2018. All in all, it makes for a much larger and expansive article than space would permit in the smaller A5 format of the JOURNAL.

Thanks very much to Andy Gillard - a nice collaboration as well as a mention for the VVC in the well respected ScooterNova magazine.

If you would like to read more on this very challenging project, you can order a copy of ScooterNova No.17 here or if you want to really push the boat out, you could order six issues for the coming year (published bi-monthly) via link here.
