2nd Audax Vespistico Internazionale Femminile

I previously added a post on a 1950s Milan Vespa rally, what with the wonders of modern communication, friend and VVC member, Auro Meotto, has been able to enlighten me more on this raduno, after he found details of the event in an old copy he owns of Motociclismo magazine..

The second Audax Vespistico Internazionale Femminile took place on June 14th 1953, starting from Milan’s Duomo (Cathedral) in the city’s centre before travelling to the towns of Como (Lake Como) and Bergamo and then returning to Milano.

There were no issues with the exception of poor Vanda Rossi, one of the youngest participants, who fell onto gravel near Argegno but continued on despite the pain in both knees, eventually getting to the destination right on time!

34 teams registered, 32 started with all 98 vespistas reaching the end destination.
