The Douglas Motor Cycle Club hold an annual Cavalcade in late May, based at the Kingswood Heritage Museum in Bristol. This comprises of a bike display / concours in the morning, followed by a 2-3 hour ride, following (as near as possible) the route used in the 50s to test out the motorbikes, I understand this includes a coffee stop. The ride ends back at the Kingswood Museum for refreshments and prize giving.
One of our founder members (Peter Burley) is a member of this club and it would appear they are keen to allow members of our club who own Vespas manufactured at the Douglas factory (1951-1965) to also attend. The event is planned for Sunday 24th May 2026
At this point we are just canvasing interest, so if you own a scooter that fits their criteria and are interested, can you please let me know ?
Just to reiterate, to take part, your scooter needs to have been manufactured in the Kingswood factory, not just badged as a Douglas machine.
This is a Douglas Motorcycle Club event and numbers will be limited.
Booking forms and further information will be available through Peter Burley or Richard Vickery in December / January
