CALVADOS RALLY SEPT 2011

A DVD of the Rally will be available from the club shop late October.

ANDOVER RALLY July 2011

The weather wasn't so good for this event but spirits were not dampened as 92 people attended. There was much more activity in the clubhouse than on the rally field. However, due to a gap in the rain the rideout was able to take place.

60TH ANNIVERSARY SPRING MEETING AT CHEDDAR May 2011

Great weather for the rideout to Weston Super Mare on the Friday coupled with a visit to the Weston Lambretta Museum. 51 people with about 32 bikes.

Satuday's weather started with heavy rain but once this had cleared just in time for the run we headed through the Cheddar Gorge for Kingswood where we visited the Kingswood Heritage Museum and paid homage to the old Douglas factory.

We would like to say a great weekend.

We had superb weather. There were 88 people who signed in for the rally. 49 bikes went on the 30 mile rideout. We visited an airfield and an aero museum with tea and cakes included. 71 people sat down to an evening meal on Saturday evening in the PRFC clubhouse with Scooter DVD's and a memrobelia auction afterwards. On Sunday the gymnkhana continued with a Concours at mid day followed by the prizegiving. A most relaxed an enjoyable weekend

    DORKING RALLY 2008 Gallery Images

Without doubt this rally has to be one of the best we have had at Brockham. A superb Gymnkhana course with 3 events organised by our Chairman Roger Smith provided enjoyment for both riders and spectators. On the Saturday afternoon Matthew Phillips organised a good ride out of about 22 miles with a spendid pub stop after about 16 miles. The mobile food van on site was serving up some really good grub with Fish & Chips on the Saturday evening, great stuff. Saturday evening also gave us the 60's Soul disco provided by Paul Carr or the opportunity to also visit the Brockham Village Fair which is a spectacle in itself with an old fashioned Fun Fair with Big Wheel etc.
Sunday morning presented those interested with the opportunity to have another go on the skill rides, and plenty did. Also the Concours de Elegance. Proceeedings wound up around 1.30pm following the prize giving. Full results will be in the next issue of the Journal. There were 129 entrants on 78 bikes, 50 bikes went on the ride out, for the VVC that was a good turnout.
The pictures will tell their own story.

(DVD Available for members to purchase in Club Shop)
Despite concern about the weather, the weekend thankfullyproved ok, in fact on Saturday the sun shone and the weather for the ride out was great. There were 45 participants to the rally. We had a selection of old bikes as well as newer ones, friendships renewed and new ones made. There was a skills area which a good few attempted. A ride out on Saturday afternoon included a ford for those who 'dared'. There was a stop at a quaint thatched pub with 'tea and cake' , which proved popular and what proved to be a superb dinner in the evening with old Vespa film footage, a memrobelia auction, a quiz and some live music provided by member Tony Purdy. It has been suggested that we should consider a repeat of a rally at this venue another year. It is hoped that a short DVD of the rally will be available some time in mid July. Watch the club shop.
